Fatima Rosa was born 29 years ago (It’s her husband writing this ;) ) to a family that would very much shape her personality, professionalism, and entrepreneurial mind. The oldest daughter of Ugandan refugees from Idi Amim’s regime; her family had to drop everything they had and learn to start all over, survive, and eventually thrive in different parts of the world. Fatima was born in a quiet cold town in Ontario, Canada where she grew up with big dorky glasses and learned to shovel snow, stand up for herself being the only brown kid in school, and eventually wash dishes and work her way up in the family restaurant business. After learning the value of hard work, and after graduating from University of Toronto she made her big entrepreneurial move. Fatima brought the first ever blow dry bar franchise to sunny Miami, Florida where everyone is vain and pressed for time. As she built her businesses she became more involved in the community and helped organizations like Best Buddies, The UnitedWay Small Business where she currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee. She is still dominating the local beauty industry with Face Brow and Beauty bar in Brickell where they keep their clients happy and beautiful one eyebrow and eyelash at a time. But her most impressive feat thus far has been putting up with me and raising our daughter Ariana Athena Rosa.
